Nestled in the heart of Sumter County, Wedgefield Home for Kids is dedicated to providing a safe, stable, and loving environment for children in need. We are a private placement organization registered with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, but we are not operated or managed by the Department. Our mission is to glorify the Lord by supporting each child 's spiritual, physical, and educational growth, helping them excel with Christ as their guide. We welcome both long-term and short-term placements, ensuring that every child receives the care and support they deserve. We also extend our service to our military community in the event a emergency placement arises due to rapid deployment or to help our military families with other needs as they may arise.
Children at Wedgefield Home for Kids have the flexibility to attend Wedgefield University for Kids our oncampus Christian school or enroll in our local district school. This approach allows us to tailor each child's educational journey to their unique needs and circumstances, fostering both academic excellence and personal growth.

Our home is more than just a place to stay it's a community. We partner with local churches, organizations, and volunteers who share our passion for serving children. Through community events, fund raisers, and hands-on support, we strive to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our society.
